报告摘要:Animal movements and their underlying mechanisms are an extremely important research area in biology and have been extensively studied for centuries. However, spatial memory and cognition, which is the most significant difference between animal movements and chemical movements, has been ignored in the modeling of animal movements. To incorporate cognition and memory of “clever” animals in the simplest and self-contained way, we propose a delayed diffusion model via a modified Fick’s law, whereas in literature the standard diffusion for chemical movements was applied to describe “drunk” animal movements. Our mathematical model is expressed by a reaction–diffusion equation with an additional delayed diffusion term, which makes rigorous analysis intriguing and challenging.
报告人简介:史峻平,美国威廉玛丽学院(College of William & Mary)数学系主任, 教授。主要研究方向为偏微分方程,分歧理论,生物数学。在偏微分方程、分歧理论、生物数学等方面的研究工作受到国际上广泛重视。在CPAM、Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.、SIAM J. Appl. Math.、 JFA、 CVPDE、JDE等高水平杂志发表学术论文180余篇,被SCI杂志引用3000多次。担任JMAA、 CPAA等多个国际知名SCI刊物编委。主持参加美国国家科学基金会基金项目多项,主持组织国际学术会议20多次,在国际学术会议做大会报告/邀请报告100余次。
